         Collaborated with Cambodian National Center for HIV/AIDS, Dermatology and STDs (NCHADS) for survey of sexually-transmitted infections among female entertainment workers.

         Effectively serve as Clinical Laboratory Improvements Amendments (CLIA) Technical Advisor.

         Oversee development and promulgation of CDC recommendations for detection of Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

         Coordinate STD-related laboratory activities with federal partners including Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

         Examined patient-versus-clinician-collected vaginal swabs to reveal self-collected swabs perform equally well when tested for C. trachomatis and N. gonorrhea.

         Proved that genotype E is most prevalent in Atlanta-based study population

         Explored complexity of adolescent condom use and uncovered need to address effective condom use to obtain optimal prevention of unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections.

         Instrumental in authoring C. trachomatis / HPV paper which was nominated for Charles Shepherd Award.

Postdoctoral Research Associate

         Explored Chlamydia psittaci in producing infertility in sheep and associated pathology of uterine tube.

         Built mouse model to better understand respiratory infection caused by Pasteurella haemolytica.

         Detected etiologic agent, C. psittaci, of enzootic ovine abortion establishes persistent infection in sheep.

         Investigated inflammatory response in lungs of immunocompromised mice following intranasal challenge with P. haemolytica.
