Observe and verify the correct assembly of engine modules, assemblies and subassemblies, including conducting visual and dimensional inspection of individual parts, hardware, major assemblies and modules.
Support technicians with assembly and installation to ensure the use of proper tools, sequence of operations and best maintenance practices.
Audit assembly and installation documents during and after maintenance to ensure engine assembly is in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the Repair Shop and Quality Control Manual.
Research and verify completion of Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives of engine build and inspection.
Lead engine incoming inspections and outgoing inspections to assist in certifying airworthiness.
Write programs for all CF6-50 parts and optimized programs for -80C2 and-80A parts.
Create a program for 11-14 spool, leveraging multiple features, feature construction and probe angles.
Independently learn GD&T and apply to programs and inspection of parts.
Develop programs for assemblies during build with dimensional requirements.
Analyze inspection results and choose an appropriate repair supplied in the ESM.
Evaluate part fit requirements when dimensional requirements can not be met.
Manage tear down of an engines individual parts.
Demonstrate proficiency using manual measuring tools like inside/outside digital micrometers; near scale/dial calipers; and dial test indicators to record measurements at check points.
Inspect part tags for correctness and build paperwork for completion, accuracy and applicable service bulletins.
Compile Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives and customer requirements for EMUs and Engine Modules, and check requirements against the EMU/Mod to be released for installation.
Verify RIIs required by QCM, ensuring the correct torque was applied to fasteners.
Perform dimensional checks during build up.
Measure part run outs to ensure proper fit with mating parts, seals and rotors.
