Functional Characterization of TaCIPK28 in Transgenic Arabidopsis in Response to Drought Stress

Cloned TaCIPK28 from wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) that was overexpressed in wild type model plant Arabidopsis thaliana for phenotypic, physiological, and related analysis during drought stress. TaCIPK28 was overexpressed in wheat for further study, and first transgenic progeny lines were successfully obtained. Utilized Agrobacterium-mediated floral-dip method of gene transformation, greenhouse cultivation, Reverse Transcription real-time PCR, conventional PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA and RNA extraction, culture media preparation for plant growth, recombinant expression vector preparation, and E. coli heat shock method of transfection.
