Steered establishment of single-stream recycling program and renegotiated disposal contract generating approximately $5M in new revenues; also implemented $200,000 Methane Gas Extraction contract with U.S. Coast Guard to power Hawking Point facility. Facilitated scheduled mowing of vacant lots and cleaning of parks to deter illegal dumping and reduce blighted areas; recorded savings of $400,000 annually through streamlining of Bulk, Graffiti and Fire Debris program and restructured Disposal Operations by developing efficiencies as well as achieving regulatory compliance.
Led Municipal Trash Can program to provide trash receptacles for homes, required landlords to be responsible for removal of materials from residences following eviction activities by abolishing the Eviction Chattel removal activities, and supported litter prevention/vermin attraction and while promoting area beautification. The rat eradication program combined reactive/proactive responses and increased productivity from 1100 inspections to 5,000+ in a two-week period.
