Full Time Priest and Rector

         Prepare and deliver Biblical, doctrinal and meaningful Christian education and encouragement across all ages and diverse cultures within the local area.

o    Deliver fully prepared and dynamic sermons in weekly 8:00 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. worship services. Regularly incorporate special topics such as the Lenten Five series.

o    Implemented Spanish worship in 2015 for a neighboring Hispanic community utilizing the active assistance of a Bishop-appointed Spanish-speaking deacon.

o    Created and implemented three vibrant annual special programs specifically for the youth of the church and the immediate community.

o    Successfully teach on stewardship as a means of benefit for all. The Lenten Five series inspired many parishioners to support the yearly operational budget. Recently, a single parishioner donated nearly $360,000 to support one of the church s projects.

         Provide sound and effective administrative direction for the church. Ensure staffing at adequate levels and frequently meet with all paid and unpaid staff.

o    Meet regularly with the Organist, Choir director and all lay leaders to enhance unity and for exchange of ideas. Truly listen to, focus on and remain open and flexible with lay leaders viewpoints.

o    Reduced duration of vestry meetings through effective meeting leadership, minimizing demands on attendees time and resulting in improved lay leadership participation.

         Continually practice effective pastoral care for parishioners. Accompanied by my wife, make weekly pastoral visits to sick and shut-in, homebound, hospitalized and needy people.

         Supply meaningful community outreach on a variety of fronts designed to care for practical needs, reach the unchurched and collaborate with leaders of other Christian denominations.

o    Founded the River Valley Clergy Alliance, an organization that meets monthly and within which 20 Christian denominations are represented and working together. Provide the leading role in the Alliance s annual Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service.

o    Introduced plans for and led the Clergy Alliance to implement a weekend food program for 200 school children whose families incomes fall below the State-defined levels that allow them to qualify.

o    Actively promote child, youth and family benefit through special programs including Easter Egg Hunt, Vacation Bible School/Youth Retreat, Halloween Fun, Sunday School and a Community Christmas Celebration.

         Value, support and preserve the knowledge St. Paul s rich history of more than 150 years. Published two books for the benefit of the church, St. Paul s 150 Years of Mission and Ministry: Celebrating the Past and Creating the Future and To the Glory of God: St. Paul s Stained Glass Windows.

         Represented Joliet Deanery as Diocesan Council member in the Diocese of Chicago.

Associate Rector

         Provided perceptive administrative benefit for the church and its parishioners through restructuring, renewing, reorganizing and refocusing several ministerial committees. Realignment resulted in new ministerial working strategies and renewed active service to the church.

         Coordinated and conducted Vacation Bible School (VBS) at St. Edmund s after a lapse of nearly three decades.

o    Worked in partnership with my wife to reach out to nearly 500 homes in the outside community with the gospel message. We received 75 registrations and 67 attendees from ages 5 to 15 during the first effort in 2007.

o    Expanded efforts and children s ages in 2008. We visited 725 houses, received 110 registrations and 75 attendees from ages 4 to 17.

o    Directly supervised 2008 VBS youth participants; recruited 26 to 30 parishioner volunteers to ensure great VBS success in its initial two years and build momentum for the future.

         Received Ora Higgins s Youth Foundation Leadership Award in 2008 for church and community work.

         Hold position of Permanent Rector for the 2 congregations established in India in 1982 and 1983 (United Basel Mission-Bethel Church and United Basel Mission-Sushanthi Church). Served as full time Senior Rector 1982 1999; named Permanent Rector for each in 1990 and 1992, respectively.

         President (Honorary) of Bombay Christian Association, Mumbai, India 1987 1999. Oversaw coordination of 40 Christian church denominations, working alongside the Indian Government and renovated Christian cemeteries. Was instrumental in instituting peace and unity among the Christian, Hindu and Muslim communities in Bombay.

         Named by the Bombay Police Peace Committee of Mumbai as a Representative of the Christian Community during the Hindu-Muslim Communal Riot of Mumbai in 1992.

         Served as Sunday School Superintendent and Youth Director at Shanthi Cathedral in the Church of South India 1977 1979 while engaged in theology study in Seminary.
