Professional Experience

    Led the design of Cygnus Fault Detection, Isolation, and Recovery (FDIR) software for autonomous berthing with the International Space Station (ISS), conducting full cycle verification and validation (V&V) for the Cygnus Flight Software (FSW), and serving as Mission Director for Cygnus during berthed operations.

    Designed, developed, and implemented unit and functional testing for GNC flight algorithms, participating in a five spiral development cycle of the Cygnus Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) FSW subsystem.

    Created embedded navigation software for ISS proximity operations, documenting flight certification for the Cygnus GNC hazard controls, and implementing verification process for ISS safety certification of the GNC subsystem for critical and catastrophic hazard controls.

    Analyzed USAF aircraft flow-field effects and trajectories of previously uncertified assets released from wing and body stations on the F-15 and F-16 fighters, developing Python based application to assist engineering analysis of separations characteristics for the USAF suite of aircraft and asset configurations.

    Designed and developed an engineering utility for defining and displaying engineering coordinate systems, implemented using python and bindings for GUI development, graphics, XML parsing and writing.

    Performed ground ejection testing for the BRU-61 ejection rack while releasing GBU-39 assets and monitoring performance using load cells, string pots, accelerometers, gyros, and high speed video.

    Conducted weather analysis for determining the likelihood of condensation forming during a flight test mission using, weather balloon data, MM5/GFS/NAM weather predictions, and MATLAB software.

    Designed and developed Genetic Algorithm Optimization for the 6-DOF simulation used to analysis separations characteristics during release of assets from USAF aircraft.

    Provide engineering support in developing NASA s rendezvous operations of the International Space Station via spacecraft simulations modeling of high fidelity subsystems, including, Guidance Navigation and Control (GN&C) components, Avionics, FDIR, and I/O Devices.

    Used spacecraft flight modeling to address/define safety requirements for ISS operations and to assess vehicle performance, integrating various space vehicle simulations, and taking part in all stages of application design cycle for flight software models, including, flight control surfaces, vehicle propulsion systems, and Failure Detection Isolation and Recovery (FDIR) modules.
