CBP Officer

Effectively meet multiple responsibilities for detecting/preventing entrance to country of terrorists and weapons of mass destruction while supporting incoming trade and travelers/individuals. Diligently enforce array of laws/regulations regarding revenue, trade, contraband seizure, interdiction of agricultural pests/diseases, and admissibility of various individuals. Have also developed experience in dealing with the Admissibility Enforcement Unit, consisting of case work relating to immigration issues such as Expedited Removals, Expedited Removals with Credible Fear and Notice to Appear cases. Additionally serve as Detention Control officer, with such duties as feeding detainees and assuring personnel accountability, transportation, and the safety of all detainees; serve as Union Steward, which includes having knowledge of contract agreements and the ability to negotiate between officers and management.

Temporary CBP Supervisor

In this interim120-day assignment, was Temporary First Line Supervisor at San Ysidro and Otay Mesa Ports of Entry; held comprehensive responsibilities for ensuring successful accomplishment of CBP mission/goals. As CBP representative continually ensured that all personnel were kept apprised of entry procedures, import/export regulations and U.S. laws concerning border inspection requirements.

Prepared/delivered daily information briefings to communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds, prepared daily personnel work schedules, managed work performance of employees and provided guidance/mentorship/support as needed. Insightfully answered array of inquiries from public at large, mitigated/remediated any complaints/issues, completed tort claims, certified overtime/premium pay, approved various leaves of absence/sick leaves and continually verified staffing sufficiency for Port operations.
