The department maintained more than 3,000 user accounts and 2,000 end user computing devices within Windows and Chrome OS environments. Supported the IT needs of the district s 32,000 students.

         Directly supported educators and administrators in integrating technology in school curricula, including implementing a fully paperless K-12 English Language Arts curriculum system-wide.

Professional Experience, continued

 

         Instrumental in organizing a county consortium to gain Internet access for the system. Centralized Internet access and firewall, achieving economies of scale and gaining great fiscal efficiency. Persuaded the consortium to add a cybersecurity expert, allowing system protection at a much higher level but at a greatly decreased total cost.

         Oversaw a fork lift upgrade of the wired and wireless network infrastructure in the district s 8 buildings. Greatly increased operational efficiency and further reduced costs through creating an effective help desk for all users. Increased system availability to well more than 99%.

         Assumed duties at a time the system was in very poor condition in function, hardware, and software. Essentially rebuilt the system over time and with limited budgets while also keeping the system functional.

         Served as a member of the district s Leadership Team and on 2 bond committees focused on promoting the school district within the community and the district s value while also enhancing voter turnout.
