Yyyyyy x. yyyyyy
I am an award-winning international development professional with nine years of experience creating programs that advance democracy and governance, youth and women empowerment and civic engagement issues within conflict-prone regions. I have a proven track record of promoting democracy in the Middle East, as well as political, economic and educational reform and women's empowerment. In this capacity, I have developed and maintained collaborative relationships with USAID, the U.S. Department of State and Defense, and other U.S. government agencies and personnel.
I have a genuine passion for development and valuable, hands-on experience managing budgets, programs, contracts and grants. I earned the Foreign Service Award from the U.S. State Department promoting democratic values in Yemen and the Swanee Hunt Award for advancing the role of women in the political and economic process. I was the first person to serve as a USAID Gender Officer in Yemen and also served as USAID's representative to the Middle East Partnership Initiative Committee.
My experience includes the United Nations Development Program s Decentralization and Local Development Program; the Adventist Development and Relief Agency s Conflict Mitigation Project; the National Democratic Institute s Support for Reform-Oriented Parliamentarians and Political Parties in Yemen Project; and the Elections Program. I was also in charge of conflict mitigation programming and funds that led to increasing USAID funds.
