I am extremely interested in being considered for the Senior Scientist, Mesoscale Meteorology position available with your Department and am submitting my resume for review. I am focused on utilizing my in-depth education, experience, expertise and professional skills in performing highest-level research and development activities toward advancing mesoscale meteorology scientific understanding, prediction and applications that are relevant for Navy and DoD utilization.

I currently hold a Ph.D. in Meteorology, during which I maintained a 4.0 GPA and was awarded an Alumni Fellowship during the time of my Doctorate studies; I also have earned a Master of Science in Atmospheric Science and a B.S., Science Education, for which I was a Magna cum Laude graduate, maintaining a 3.91 GPA and membership in the Dean s List for two years. Additionally I am a member of the American Meteorological Society, the Korean Meteorological Society and the Korean Atmospheric Scientists in America (KASA), where I have served as Chairperson since 2016, and have been a contributor to a broad range of professional and scientific journals, a complete list of which is included in my attached resume.

Since 2013 I have served as a Senior Research Scientist for the Center for Analysis and Prediction of Storms (CAPS) at the University of Oklahoma, where I have been engaged in hands-on, cutting edge research either as PI or Co-PI, collaborating with individuals from such organizations as the National Severe Storm Laboratory (NSSL), the Cooperative Institute for Research in Atmosphere (CIRA), the School of Computer Science (CS) and the Advanced Radar Research Center (ARRC), on improving numerical wealth prediction (NWP) of convective storms by assimilating Multi-function Phased Array Radar (MPAR) data. Prior assignments for CAPS have included service as a Research Scientist and Graduate Research Assistant.

Earlier, beginning in 1995 and prior to my work with CAPS, I began my tenure with the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) in assignments beginning as a Researcher through Research Scientist for multiple projects/divisions/organizational units.
